Hleb, Flamini and many others couldn’t replicate their Arsenal form at their respective new clubs , prompting less knowledgeable fans to gloat in superficial satisfaction, while missing the point entirely. It doesn’t matter where Walcot goes , if indeed he leaves Arsenal. What does matter is the fact that we loose another quality player in Walcot , who isn’t greedy and doesn’t want to leave. For all his shortcomings and Wenger’s unwillingness( read ; pigheadedness) to give him more minutes, Walcot has easily been one of the star performers this season and the last. If Arsenal can’t pay their best players 30 K per week more than some reserve players make, then the wage structure at the club is screwed up , but we already knew that.
