Aston Villa are plotting a move for Club Brugge midfielder Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe, according to reports from The Metro.

The 24-year-old Belgian has been in fine form in his domestic league of late, attracting attention from a number of top sides from across the continent.

Paul Lambert is one man paying particularly close attention to the emerging star as he plots his summer activity.

Odjidja-Ofoe is seen as the ideal man to slot into the Villains’ midfield, with his power and energy suitable for Premier League football.

Everton came close to snapping him up in 2012, but a deal collapsed as the transfer was hit with paperwork problems.

But Villa are confident that they can seal a switch, with a £5m offer being mooted.

The Midlanders have good connections in Belgium, and are believed to be ready to monitor his progress closely between now and the end of the season.

Odjidja-Ofoe can play on either wing or in a central role, and has developed a reputation for his ability to break into attacking areas to net vital goals.

The youngster has five senior international caps to his name, and could represent his country at the World Cup.
