Gabriel Agbonlahor is set to be offered a new four year contract at Aston Villa, according to the Telegraph.

Villa are set to open discussions over a new deal for the club’s leading Premier League scorer at the season, which  is set to see him play for the club into his 30s.

Agbonlahor joined the club as a youngster before making his debut in 2006, and now he appears ready to commit his future to Paul Lambert’s team.

The 27-year-old is Villa’s longest serving player, and is set to enter the final year of his contract at the end of the season.

The club are ready to hold discussions over a new deal once the season reaches its conclusion, and are also ready to open discussions with midfielder Fabian Delph and captain Ron Vlaar.

Manager Paul Lambert remains in discussions over his own future, and is expected to sign an extension to his current contract with the club seeking stability.

“We are a young team and we are miles from where we want to be,” Lambert said.

“But we are slowly but surely getting there and if they keep growing and being confident their careers will keep going. They’re a young group and you try to keep them positive, even when there is a drop.”
