Boyhood Chelsea fan Luke Shaw could join the Blues in the summer, reports the Mirror.

The Southampton left-back is one of the most wanted youngsters in England, and has been linked with high profile moves to Manchester United and Stamford Bridge.

The Saints are expected to fall into a mini crisis this month, after Nicola Cortese resigned from his role as club chairman, with speculation his cracked relationship with owner Katharina Liebherr ended after she pressured him to sell the club’s star assets.

But Luke Shaw isn’t expected to go in this transfer window, although the club have admitted it wont be long until the 18-year-old is playing Champions League football. And a move to Chelsea is on, but only in the summer.

Jose Mourinho could get the young Englishman if he offers £8million, as well as Ryan Bertand. The 24-year-old full-back has only made one appearance since ‘The Special One’ returned to the bridge, and has been linked with a move out of the club, with Liverpool reportedly interested.

But if Mourinho can hold on to the spare defender, he can then sign Shaw in the summer, as a long-term replacement for the ageing Ashley Cole, who turned 33 just before Christmas.
