Jose Mourinho may have admitted earlier that he was looking to offload all his strikers at the end of the season, but recently stated his intentions to include Fernando Torres in his plans for next season, Metro reports.

The Spanish striker ended his current goal drought in Chelsea’s final game against Cardiff City which his side won 2-1 – his first Premier League goal since January.

With the strikers – Torres, Demba Ba, Samuel Eto’o – all struggling to find the net as of late, their place were all under question as the club prepare to make an offer for Atletico Madrid’s striker Diego Costa.

However, based on Torres’ performance in his latest game, the Portuguese boss revealed that the Spaniard will still have a role to play.

“Yes he’s in my plans [for next season]. He’s a good player,” said the Blues boss.

“He’s not the kind of guy who will score goal after goal but the way he works and moves he contributes to the team. He’s a player I like.”
