As a chelsea fan I would be really disappointed to sea Abramovich bring in another striker. Torres is just starting to get back into from, and to shatter his confidence like that would be ludicrous.

Abel haven’t you noticed his work rate lately? His positional play? His passing? His link up play? Didn’t he thrive off Gerrad and Alonso through balls at Liverpool? Can’t you see that the team has been set up for him now? I had a debate with James Lowson in an older article that this squad is quite new and are still gelling,the chemistry isn’t fully there yet. Torres scored 3 in the Euros with a midfield behind him who has been playing together for years and he didn’t even play much in the tournament. Gives the Chelsea midfield time and you’ll see Torres running in behind defenders from Mata and Oscar through balls like he does with an experienced midfield.

Yes. he is… Torres will always be excellent. He is one of the best and is playing very well this season. But some people refuse to see it because of their own agenda. If he scored five goals in a match they would say: Ohhhh, He should have scored six…

Only half true.

The other half of this story is that Torres has missed quite a few sitters, whilst one-on-one with the keeper. He still has the intelligence to make the right runs, but his finishing has let him down.

If he can improve his finishing, he will be the striker we remember, bar the incredible pace. We all agree the latter is gone.

You make it seem like he’s doing all the right things. His hold up play is not good and he falls over too much. He consistently misses sitters and freezes on one on one situations. His touch has become horrible, and in general he’s become lost. The slightest of errors seem to damage his confidence immensely. Face it, if it weren’t for a couple goals that he’s scored this season (with the help of 3 brilliant guys playing behind him), you’d have nothing positive to say. Oh wait let me guess , the goal against Barca? It’s funny how delusional some people can be.
