Chelsea’s Brazilian midfielder Oscar is angry at omission from the first team during the FIFA Club World Cup final.

Set to play in the Blues’ Capital One Cup quarter final at Elland Road tonight, Oscar has seen his starting appearances drastically cut down featuring three times in seven games under the helm of Benitez.

The Spaniard welcomed any frustration from the player, noting “Oscar’s not happy because he’s not playing and that’s fantastic. There would be a problem if it was the opposite.’”

Commenting on the status of Oscar’s current mood after the final in Yokohama, Benitez said, “Oscar is fine. He’s a very good professional. We don’t have any issue with him.”

Due to the high density of attacking midfielders at Stamford Bridge, Benitez stated, “I try to manage players, especially in his position because we have Eden Hazard and Juan Mata, who can do more or less the same job.”

“It’s difficult for them but it’s good for me because I have different problems. There are no issues or problems,” said Benitez.

Aimed to reassure the player publicly – as well as the fans – the Spaniard went onto say that “Oscar will have a lot of time on the pitch and I’m sure he’ll be a great player for the club.”
