Brazilian star open to Chelsea switch
Brazilian midfielder Taison has opened the door for a move to Chelsea by declaring his desire to play alongside current Blues star Oscar.
The 24-year-old is reportedly on the Premier League club’s radar, after a string of impressive displays for Ukrainian giants Metalist Kharkiv.
Taison partnered Oscar in midfield for former club Internacional, a relationship that he would like to revisit:
“I see Oscar, who I played alongside at Internacional, and I want to play with him again.” He is quoted by Diario Popular via Sky Sports.
Taison also confessed to meeting Blues owner Roman Abramovich recently regarding a potential move:
“I went to England (some weeks ago) just to take a look. I talked to the president,”
Despite Metalist being keen to retain his services, his agent Diego Dornelles admitted that Taison’s future is far from clear:
“The club want him to stay, but there are many things coming.”
Taison is thought of as one of the top talents in Ukrainian football, with his combination of intricate skills and precise finishing gaining him much praise.
It is unclear as to whether Chelsea will make a January move, but with his ability to play in any attacking midfield role, or as a striker, he may fit into manager Rafael Benitez’s plans.
