Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu has completed a season-long loan move to Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart, according to talkSPORT.

The Spaniard signed a new three-year contract at Stamford Bridge last month but is yet to force his way in to Jose Mourinho’s plans for the coming season.

And after a season in Spain with Valencia last year, the 22-year-old will now go to Germany to gain more first-team experience.

Since joining arriving from Barcelona in a €5million deal in 2011, Romeu has made 33 first-team appearances for Chelsea, scoring one goal.

The fact Romeu signed a three-year contract extension last month suggests Mourinho does have plans for the youngster, but feels another year out on loan would be better for his development.

Romeu has represented Spain at U17, U19, U20, U21 and U23 level.
