Burak Yilmaz

Jose Mourinho has hinted at a possible summer move for Galatasary striker Burak Yilmaz after confessing his admiration for the forward, reports The Metro.

The Blues have made no secret of the fact they are in the market for a new striker, and it seems as though the returning Chelsea manager thinks Yilmaz fits the bill.

The club appear to have been left frustrated in their pursuit of Napoli forward Edison Cavani who is all set to join Paris St Germain, while they also lost out in their attempt to sign Radamel Falcao earlier in the transfer window.

Mourinho has also been linked with a move for controversial Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, but it appears Yilmaz could be the club’s top target after the Chelsea boss said the forward would prove a top signing for any team in the world.

“Burak could play for any team in the world,” Mourinho said.

“He is world class.”

Mourinho’s comments are well timed, after the Turkish club admitted they would be willing to sell their prized asset for the right price.

The Turkish giants are understood to be willing to accept offers of around £20million for the forward who fired an impressive 32 goals in 39 appearances last season.

“We have set a price for Burak Yılmaz, we will only consider an offer which is in the best interests of the club and player,” announced club president Ünal Aysal.

“If Burak wants to leave and our transfer demands are matched we could accept a deal.”

Yilmaz himself is thought to be keen on a move to England, having previously expressed his admiration for the Premier League.
