John Terry believes that Cesc Fabregas will adapt well to life at Chelsea and be a success at the club.

The former Arsenal skipper completed a surprise £27m switch to Stamford Bridge from Barcelona before jetting off to represent Spain at the World Cup, becoming the Blues’ first major addition of the current window.

Despite his impressive displays last term, the Catalans deemed the playmaker to be no longer of use to them, and a switch back to the Emirates Stadium was mooted.

But after the north Londoners opted against snapping up their one-time idol, Chelsea moved to add him to their ranks, as Jose Mourinho prepares a serious assault on the Premier League title.

Fabregas is yet to link up with his new team-mates, but Terry is sure that the experienced midfielder will be a big hit at the club:

“He’s a very good signing,” he is quoted by the Daily Star.

“He is great on the ball, a great box-to-box player, he scores an awful lot of goals as well and he has got an aggressive streak in him too – I certainly remember that from his Arsenal days.

“I’m sure he is going to fit in really well at Chelsea and do well in the years to come.”
