Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is ready to spend £26m to set up a summer reunion with Napoli attacker Jose Callejon, according to reports from the Daily Star.

The Blues chief worked with the Spanish forward while at Real Madrid before both manager and player left last year.

Although he was by no means one of Los Blancos’ big stars, Mourinho was always an admirer of the pacey wide-man, and it is now understood that he’s ready to lure him to the Premier League with a big offer.

‘The Special One’ is known to be in the market to make forward-thinking additions to his squad after watching them finish as the lowest scorers in the title race.

Callejon is able to play from either flank or in a central role, which makes him a desirable prospect for the Londoners.

Napoli have only had their man for one season, but with the 27-year-old having netted 16 goals they may be tempted by making a significant and speedy profit on the £8m paid for his signature.

Chelsea’s top target remains Diego Costa, with reports indicating that a deal could be formalised this summer for the Atletico Madrid ace.
