Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu has revealed that he is ready to sit down with Valencia to discuss a possible permanent transfer at the end of the season.

The Spanish ace is currently plying his trade at the Mestalla after leaving the Blues on a season-long basis after growing frustrated at a lack of paying time.

Romeu has established himself as a regular in Los Che’s first-team this season, with his impressive displays having led to rumours of a possible return to London in six months’ time.

However, with Chelsea having recently signed Namanja Matic to add to their wealth of central options, the 22-year-old’s route into Jose Mourinho’s starting XI may be blocked.

This has prompted talk of a potential full transfer to Valencia at the end of the campaign, and Romeu refused to rule out the prospect of such a deal:

“My position is like I have always said – I want to be comfortable here,” he is quoted by talkSPORT.

“I want to give everything to Valencia, have a great year and finish the season well. When we finish we will sit down and talk about whatever. I’ve always said that if I was comfortable and happy, I will continue to fight for a year or whatever.”

Romeu only signed for Chelsea from Barcelona in 2011, but despite making 16 appearances in his debut campaign he soon slipped down the pecking order.
