Chelsea have been put on red alert to the news that Paris St. Germain striker Edinson Cavani could quit the club in the summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

Jose Mourinho has made no secret of his desire to sign a world class striker in the summer, and the Uruguayan international has been mentioned as a possible target.

And ahead of the Blues Champions League quarter final clash with PSG, Cavani has revealed his frustrations at playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahmiovic, whilst also admitted his admiration for English football.

Asked if he will still be at PSG next year, he said: “We will see at the end of the season, let’s finish the season first.

“I am happy in Paris but there are, for sure, things which I have got to talk about with the club, things that have to be done differently.”

Chelsea were heavily linked with a move for Cavani last summer, before the striker completed a £53million move to PSG from Napoli.

“Yes, Chelsea were interested but PSG showed a real confidence and a real determination to include me in their project,” he confirmed.

Mourinho said in a recent interview with French television that the prospect of signing Cavani in the summer was  “maybe not as impossible as signing Zlatan.”

Cavani also replied: “Yes, a lot” when asked if he loved English football.

However, despite the speculation the striker is still looking to knock Chelsea out of the Champions League as revenge for Napoli’s defeat to the Blues two years ago.

“From a personal point of view, I am looking at this match as a chance for revenge,” he said.
