Chelsea out to hijack Liverpool move
Chelsea are looking to hijack Liverpool’s plans to sign the Non-League’s 18 year-old sensation Daniel Carr.
The Dulwich Hamlet striker was on Merseyside on Thursday trying to impress the Reds and Chelsea have invited the player for a trial with the club, according to the Daily Mail.
Carr, flattered with the attention from the two Premier League giants, has not made a decision yet as up to 14 clubs have reportedly been interested in his services, with also both Manchester clubs among the candidates.
The teenager is considered the hottest prospect in non-League football, having netted 23 goals in as many games this season.
Naturally formed as a winger, Dulwich manager Gavin Rose has maximised his scoring potential by placing him up front. The Ryman Football League coach has no doubt about Carr’s talent, but hopes it is developed by the right people.
“At his age it is potential. But if he is taken by the right club and works hard he can play at the top level”.
‘We’ve got to be careful that Daniel isn’t caught up in a circus. The important thing if he does go is that he goes to a club that really wants him”, he claimed.
