Chelsea midfielder Yossi BenayounOut-of-favour Chelsea midfielder Yossi Benayoun is set for a move to Russia at the end of the season, according to reports from talkSPORT.

The Israeli, who spent time on loan with West Ham during the first half of the current campaign, has been deemed surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge, with a number of stars such as Juan Mata, Oscar and Eden Hazard available to manager Rafael Benitez in his preferred attacking midfield position.

Banayoun joined Chelsea from Liverpool in 2010, but a series of injuries have limited the 32-year-old to a single Premier League start in the blue shirt.

With his contract set to expire at the end of the season, interest in the experienced star has increased, with a number of Russian clubs believed to be in the race.

When asked of a potential move to either Rubin Kazan or Lokomotiv Moscow, Benayoun’s agent Ronen Katsav confirmed the interest and said that arrangements will be made at the end of the season:

“The player is concentrating on this season and he is committed at Chelsea,

“He will be released at the end of the season and, being a good player, it is normal that there is interest from several clubs.

“Before the expiry of his contract we will consider all offers.”
