Fernando Torres (Chelsea)Chelsea striker Fernando Torres says that he is full of confidence and happy with the club’s current system.

The much-maligned Spaniard has endured a woeful time in London since his £50m move from Liverpool in 2011.

Despite plying for one of the Premier League’s top club sides, the front-man has consistently struggled in front of goal, and come nowhere near to justifying the Blues’ massive investment in his services.

However, under new boss Jose Mourinho Torres has looked rejuvenated of late, and has shown glimpses of the form that convinced Roman Abramovich to lure him away from the Merseyside rivals.

The 29-year-old netted a fortuitous late winner during Sunday’s clash with Manchester City, which many are tipping to prove to be one of the season’s defining goals.

Torres was thrilled to have been able to provide the decisive striker, and says that he is getting more and more confident.

“I used to have a team-mate who told me every ball can be the most important ball of the game, and this is a clear example, a long ball and a misunderstanding and you have the ball to pass into the net. I was lucky,” Torres told the club’s official website.

“I am feeling good and with high confidence, and feeling better in the system we are playing with more space.

“Hopefully we can keep improving as a team as it is just the beginning of the season and important games are coming.”
