Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois says that he is not in a hurry to decide his future as speculation surrounding a move mounts.

The Belgian stopper is currently enjoying an extended loan spell with Atletico Madrid, but rumours have suggested that his fine displays in La Liga have been enough to persuade the Blues that he may be worthy of a first-team role next term.

However, with Petr Cech firmly established as the Londoners’ number one regular playing time may not be a certainty for Courtois.

This has led to talk that the 21-year-old is ready to quit Chelsea, with a permanent switch to the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona having been mooted.

The Bernabeu side are said to be particularly keen to offer him regular action, but the young ‘keeper says that he is not in a “rush” to decide his future:

“I do not want to rush and make a bad decision. We must still think about it. It is difficult with so many interested parties, plus it’s not the only time to think about my future.” He is quoted by talkSPORT.

“I belong to Chelsea, I have a contract, and I do not have to rush to make a decision.”

Courtois went on to play down Real’s interest, insisting that Chelsea will ultimately make the decision:

“I’ve never heard of that – those are rumours. If someone in Europe wants to sign me they have to speak with Chelsea and the English club will decide what to do.”
