Eden Hazard says that he wants 2014/15 to be a better season for Chelsea, and one where the club wins silverware.

The Blues came close to securing a memorable Premier League and Champions League double, but saw their title charge falter over the last few weeks of the campaign before they were knocked out of Europe at the semi-final stage.

Hazard himself has been successful at Stamford Bridge since his 2012 arrival from Lille, winning the Europa League last season as well as being named in the PFA Team of the Year on two occasions.

However he maintains that the season just gone was an unsuccessful one for Chelsea, and says that he is keen to make amends by helping to secure major honours next time:

“I came here for trophies, this season was good for me but not collectively because we didn’t win anything, and last season we won the Europa League.” He is quoted by The Express.

“Individually it’s been good because I was able to play in almost every game, be on the pitch and do what I enjoy doing most, which is to play football.

“This season was an ‘almost’ season – almost in the Champions League final, almost champions in the Premier League. I hope next season it will be better and we can go to the next level.

Hazard went on to say that he wants to win the coveted Ballon d’Or award before his career ends:

“I want to be the best, I hope one day I can win the Ballon d’Or, maybe not now but if I work every day and take pleasure from my game then why not?”
