Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has drawn up a four player January shortlist in a bid to improve his frontline which includes Radamel Falcao, Gonzalo Higuain, Diego Costa and Karim Benzema, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

The Blues chief made his desire to land a fresh centre-forward clear over the summer, with Manchester United’s Wayne Rooney the subject of numerous bids.

Further to this, ‘The Special One’ has also drawn attention his current crop of forwards’ failings, despite his side being firmly in the title race.

As a result, Mourinho is set to be backed heavily by Roman Abramovich and has made a goal-getter his priority.

Falcao is expected to be the subject of a serious move from the London side, even though he only signed for Monaco in a mega money deal a matter of months ago.

The Colombian is rumoured to be disillusioned with life at the Stade Louis II, opening suggestions that an £80m swoop could be on the cards.

Benzema and Higuain – both of whom were managed by Mourinho at Real Madrid – are also being linked with moves, but the pair are believed to be settled at Real and Napoli respectively.

Costa is the final name on the list, with the Brazilian-born front-man once of Europe’s in-form hit-men.
