Chelsea look set for a battle to keep Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge, with Paris Saint-Germain keen on the attacking midfielder, according to reports from TuttoMercato.

The Belgian playmaker has been a big hit since his 2012 switch to Stamford Bridge, becoming a key member of the Londoners’ first-team squad.

His excellent displays have not gone unnoticed, with PSG having been impressed.

Hazard made his name in French football with Lille, and PSG are hopeful that they can lure him back across the English Channel in January.

The Ligue 1 champions are one of European football’s heavyweights in terms of financial clout, and are said to be willing to flex their muscles by offering around £40m for the 22-year-old.

Jose Mourinho is unlikely to be open to the idea of parting company with one of his key attacking threats, but may consider letting Hazard leave for a large fee – which he could then use to pursue a top class striker.

‘The Special One’ is said to be keen on Monaco’s Radamel Falcao, but even Roman Abramovich’s millions might not be adequate to secure the £85m-rated Colombian.
