England manager Roy Hodgson is expected to clarify today whether John Terry will be recalled to the international set up, reports the Telegraph.

The Chelsea man has been in outstanding form this season, and his performances have prompted many to push for an England recall.

Terry has remained adamant his decision to retire from international football is irreversible, and Hodgson has always respected the decision.

But with the England defence in exposed in the last two internationals, and with Terry in such fine form for Chelsea, the likes of former England striker Gary Lineker have been amongst those calling for the 33-year-old to be bought back.

Terry called time on his international career in September 2012, claiming his position with the national team had become ‘untenable’ after being charged by the FA with using racist language towards QPR defender Anton Ferdinand.

In calling time on his 78-cap career, Terry said: “I feel the FA, in pursuing charges against me where I have already been cleared in a court of law, have made my position with the national team untenable.”
