Chelsea have made contact with Saint Etienne regarding a deal for highly-rated centre-back Kurt Zouma, according to reports from The Metro.

The 19-year-old ace is widely regarded as one of European football’s top rising talents, and has been linked with a host of big clubs over the course of the past few months.

Blues chief Jose Mourinho was believed to have been close to launching a move for the teenager during the last window, but he eventually opted against doing so.

However, with David Luiz attracting attention from Bayern Munich and Barcelona, ‘The Special One’ is said to be considering potential additions, and has opened talks with Saint Etienne for Zouma.

The French side are far from keen to see their starlet leave, but could be willing to sell to Chelsea on the condition that he is loaned back to them for the remainder of the season.

Arsenal and Manchester United have also been linked with the defender, as have the likes of Real Madrid, Monaco and Inter Milan.
