Chelsea could be set to lose another defender to Paris Saint-Germain, with reports from the Daily Mail suggesting that Branislav Ivanovic is now a target for the Ligue 1 champions.

David Luiz looks set to complete a shock £50m move to the French capital in the coming days, and the Serbian is also on their hit-list.

PSG have been alerted by the Blues’ reluctance to offer the 30-year-old a fresh contract, despite the defender – who has two years to run on his current deal – having shown a willingness to commit the rest of his career to the club.

Chelsea are known for their policy of not offering players over the age of 30 contracts of longer than a year, which may well anger Ivanovic.

Talks have been shelved until next summer when his deal enters its final 12 months, which has tempted the Parisians.

PSG are willing to offer him the security he desires, while presenting him with a realistic chance of silverware.

Ivanovic is a favourite of Mourinho, yet there is likely to be little he can do to change owner Roman Abramovich’s mind.
