Never get back with your ex; that’s what they always say. And apparently Arsene Wenger has been listening as Arsenal have decided to decline on their first-option to re-sign Cesc Fabregas for £30m.

Like a rejected man staring into the middle distance on the edge of a dancefloor, Fabregas is hurt but undeterred. Chelsea have emerged as the fall back guy, and they’re not a bad option either.
