Tony Pulis has told the Crystal Palace board that he wants at least a £30m budget for summer transfers, according to reports from The Mirror.

Despite their 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Manchester City on Sunday, the Eagles are safe from relegation after some woeful early season performances under Ian Holloway.

Pulis was drafted in to replace the outspoken Bristolian, and has completed a miracle turnaround to keep the south Londoners in the top tier and avoid an immediate return to the Championship.

On the back of his achievements, the ex-Stoke manager wants a £30m kitty to build a side capable of a more comfortable 2014/15 campaign.

Pulis is believed to remain frustrated that he didn’t have the funds in place to sign a number of January targets, including current Sunderland goal-scoring hero Connor Wickham – who was available for around £5m.

A return for the powerful forward is thought to be a priority, while a move for one his former Potters players Steven N’Zonzi is also on his agenda.

To fund such spending, Palace may sanction the sales of a number of fringe players and elect to not renew goalkeeper Julian Speroni’s contract.
