Premier League clubs that they will have to pay in excess of £11m to sign Palace starlet Wilfried Zaha.

Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal are all rumoured to be interested in the Ivory Coast-born England Under 21 international who has been linked with a possible January departure to the Premier League.

However Freeman insists that the club’s prize asset is worth more than either Theo Walcott or Alex Oxlade Chamberlain cost Arsenal and still hopes that the winger will remain at the club to assist in their pursuit to reach the Premier League.

He told Sky Sports: “I know he is worth more than £11m. You’re getting him cheap if you get him for that.

“Wilfried has dedicated him to the game and is heading in the right direction. We give young players the chance to play and that’s what he is doing now.”

The 19-year-old wonder-kid is enjoying a hugely successful season at Selhurst Park and has scored four goals in his last two games for the Eagles.

Freeman did concede that the youngster is destined to one day star in the Premier League but he is hoping that his side’s bright start will persuade Zaha to stay with his current club a while longer.

“It’s a matter of time until he plays in the Premier League and let’s hope that is with Crystal Palace,

“As we speak right now he’s on a long contract and he’s very happy”, he concluded.
