Dutch outfit ready to sell Liverpool FC and Chelsea target
Vitesse Arnhem have revealed that they are willing to sell Liverpool and Chelsea target Wilfried Bony.
The Premier League duo have been heavily linked with the striker in recent weeks, as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
A fine goal return of 16 in 18 appearances this term has alerted the pair, who could launch bids ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.
The 24-year-old is currently away representing the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations, but would likely jump at the chance to play in England.
Vitesse Arnhem’s general manager Erwin Kasakowski has said that if an acceptable bid from a big club is received Bony will be allowed to move on.
“We have promised Wilfried that we will consider any serious offers from him that would take him a step higher, but it must be good for both parties.” He is quoted as saying by talkSPORT via AD.
“Currently we have received no bids, and frankly we would rather Wilfried stays.”
Liverpool and Chelsea may face competition from Russian giants CSKA Moscow, who are also believed to be interested in the prolific front-man.
Bony began his career with Ivorian club Issia Wazi, before he was snapped up as a youngster by Sparta Prague.
After averaging a goal every three games between 2008 and 2011, Vitesse came calling, taking Bony to Holland where he has continued to impress.
