With each year that passes, it never gets any easier for us to understand and comprehend that terrible day at Hillsborough.

This week, as it does every year, football fans, clubs and families have united to pay their respects.

There have been some really moving tributes to the fallen 96 from Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish and even Liverpool’s fiercest rivals Everton have acted with the upmost dignity.

Following the Toffees manager Roberto Martinez’s touching words in the week, Goodison Park put on another breathtaking tribute ahead of Everton’s game against Crystal Palace.
