Leon Osman has not given up hope of landing a European spot at the end of the season but knows Everton are depending on others.

David Moyes’ men could feasibly overtake Spurs who are lying in fifth place in the Premier League but they need Chelsea to beat Spurs in Wednesday night’s clash at Stamford Bridge for them to have any chance of landing that one Europa League spot.

Osman is aware that, following the goalless draw with Liverpool on Sunday, the chances of Everton making it into the European places look slim.

Osman told the Echo: “It’s going to take a disaster from one of the teams above us for us to get in there, but we can only hope that (the draw at Anfield) is a good point.

“We’ve got to keep going and try to win our last two games and hope that’s enough.”
