Everton have enquired about the availability of Nottingham Forest defender Jamaal Lascelles, who has previously been linked with both Liverpool and Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail.

The Toffees were fined £45,000 and warned over their future conduct by the FA only last week, following an unauthorized approach for Lascelles back in 2010.

Everton have accepted their punishment for the incident, and are now making a second approach for the 20-year-old via the official route.

Lascelles has recently been offered an extended contract at the City Ground, but his form continues to attract the interest of Premier League clubs.

Arsenal are understood to be willing to pay £3million for his services, a fee Forest may be willing to accept should he be loaned back for the remainder of the season.

Meanwhile, Forest hope to beat Wigan and Reading to the signing of Hull City defender Jack Hobbs, who was on loan at the City Ground earlier in the season.

The former Liverpool prospect is surplus to requirements at the KC Stadium, although Steve Bruce has rejected an offer from Sheffield Wednesday for 27-year-old striker Matty Fryatt.
