Toffees chief Roberto Martinez is believed to be keen to add to his squad at the turn of the year, despite having been fairly active on the transfer front over the summer.

Yacob has emerged as one of his targets, with a steely enforcer thought to be a priority.

The Argentine has impressed in the Premier League since his arrival at the Hawthorns last year with a series of gritty displays.

Martinez feels that he has the technical ability to slot into his side and will help to fill the void left by Marouane Fellaini – who left the club to join Manchester United a matter of months ago.

Yacob has been an ever present in the Baggies’ starting XI under Steve Clarke, who is believed to value him highly.

As a result, he is likely to put up a fight to keep the 26-year-old.

But, an increased chance of securing European football at Goodison Park may tempt the South American to pursue a move.

Yacob netted his first West Brom goal last weekend against Arsenal.

Can Everton lure Claudio Yacob away from West Brom?

West Brom sell players when and if they want to, Yakub is on a fairly long contract and will leave when our chairman decides he will the Odemwingie debacle will show that he is not to be trifled with.

How will West Brom reach the top 4 if other clubs keep trying to poach their best players. For goodness sake hands off , give the baggies and fans a break!!!!
