This article portrays a very skewed perspective of Moyes' £5m+ signings.

There is no mention of club record signing Fellaini nor Baines - both highly sought after and coveted by major clubs around Europe.

Andy Johnson was sold for a profit and his time at Everton was a success. His move to Fulham less so but that demonstrates Moyes astuteness in terms of knowing when to extract maximum market value for a player. Other player sales that fall into this bracket include Lescott and Arteta.

Heitinga was last year's player of the season and a World Cup finalist. This season has been mixed by his standards however he too would likely command a profitable transfer fee. Mirallas and Jelavic would also command greater fees now than when they were purchased.

Distin has proved particularly dependable and a more than adequate replacement for Lescott for a fraction of the price. Far from a 'failure'.

Beattie, Yakubu and Bilyaletdinov are the only £5m+ signings you have mentioned that can be termed as disappointments with any degree of credibility. For two of these players, half of their original transfer fee was recouped.

Strangely, you also mentioned Pienaar. The player's desire to leave forced Moyes hand however he was never purchased for more than £5m anyway so the issue is irrelevant to the point you attempting to validate.

This article appears inconsistent based on the above points.

Everton are not QPR. They have a richer history than Chelsea and would be in that bracket if given the same money. City are there with a poorer manager and a lesser history than Everton. Count the league titles (more than both clubs). Chelsea and City are bigger attractions because of money. You've only backed up my argument by your comments.

Money doesn't automatically success, just look at QPR. I was merely pointing out how a flurry of expensive signings would perhaps upset the balance at Everton and destabilise the squad harmony. Also you can players whatever you want but unfortunately clubs like Everton will never be as attractive as the likes of United, Chelsea etc.

You truly are a buffoon. The fact that you mentioned Johnson leaving for a profit, and that Distin and Heitinga were both solid purchases, and then go on to base those as negatives to back up your own weak argument is pathetic. By the way Lescott cost 5m same as Distin and is a poorer defender in a lot of peoples eyes. City's purchase of him at a ridiculous amount does not prove otherwise. You have also conveniently ignored Fellaini for 15m and Baines being the most expensive defender at 6m. Hopeless piece of journalism. Of course tthe man would do better if he was given more money. He would buy better players. Look at the ones he missed out on, Moutinho, Ba, Hazard, Ramsey (all genuine targets that were contacted many years before they came to prominence but money was too scarce). More importantly, stacks of money like Chelsea, City, Utd. gives you a better chance of holding onto players as you will be more competitive on the pitch and in wages. Arteta, Rooney, and even Lescott and Rodwell would improve the side and squad no end. You're article is drivel.
