Perhaps the greatest triumphs to date of Brendan Rodgers’ tenure at Liverpool boss came in last season’s January transfer window.

Using his knowledge, expertise and negotiating skills, the Ulsterman landed two fantastic transfer coups last winter in the form of Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho, both purchased for reasonable fees and going on to become integral figures in the Liverpool starting line-up.

And with the Anfield outfit now firmly in the race to finish up in the Premier League’s top four this season, Rodgers is expected to use his transfer savviness once again after Christmas to land further stellar signings at discounted rates.

With that in mind, we at Football Fancast have conjured up a list of the FIVE mid-season coups the Merseyside manager should be considering, just in case he’s short of ideas.
