The summer just passed represented a transfer window of considerable progress on both sides of North London. Tottenham Hotspur spent over £100million on new players at no actual cost following Gareth Bale’s record-breaking departure to Real Madrid, whilst Arsene Wenger broke the habit of a life time by finally splashing the cash on £42million signing Mesut Ozil at Arsenal.

One of Spurs’ new signings in particular, former Ajax man Christian Eriksen, who arrived at a cost of just £11million, comes with a preceding reputation from his Eredivisie days, and many have tipped the Danish wonder-kid for a bright future.
