Former Tottenham , Fulham, Portsmouth and Bolton midfielder Sean Davis has been forced to retire due to a persistent knee injury.

The 33-year-old began his career at Craven Cottage, where he played for eight seasons before moving across London to join Tottenham.

Sadly Davis suffered two serious knee injuries during the latter stages of his career whilst at Bolton Wanderers, and has now been forced to hang up his boots.

“I’ve made the decision to retire from football but it’s been something I’ve had time to think about and reflect on because of the amount of time I’ve been injured,” he told Sky Sports.

“For three years I’ve been out.

“I’ve tried coming back and it’s not been quite right, that’s something that is hard to take.”

Good player, never really got the career trajectory he wanted after leaving Fulham. We still love him all the same. Hopefully he’ll get his badges and end up with a coaching role in SW6.
