Fulham winger Alex Kacaniklic is really hoping he can make an impression in the Premier League and follow the example of some of the senior players at the club.

The 21-year-old was delighted to feature against England on Wednesday night for his native Sweden as his country secured a 4-2 victory on the opening night of the Friends Arena.

Despite Ibrahimovic taking all the headlines, Kacaniklic is sure that if he keeps working hard, it will soon be him that is the centre of attention.

He scored in Fulham’s 3-3 draw at the Emirates last weekend and will be looking to keep finding the net and impress manager Martin Jol.

The Swede moved to Craven Cottage in August 2010 as part of the deal that saw full back Paul Konchesky head to Liverpool, and has made the most of the opportunities the transfer provided him.

“Dimitar Berbatov is good to play with. You can tell he’s a really, really good player. I’d seen him a lot before he came to Fulham and I’ve always been a fan,” he told the London Evening standard.

“Another I look up to is Damien Duff, who plays in a similar position to me. He’s one of those who tries to teach us younger players. He sets a great example.”

Now that Kieran Richardson is not expected to be fit for Fulham’s home Premier League fixture against Sunderland this weekend, Kacaniklic is set to gain another role in the starting XI and will be hoping to continue the good form he’s shown for both club and country.
