Inter Milan are plotting summer moves for Manchester City’s Alvaro Negredo and Roberto Soldado of Tottenham, according to reports from Corriere dello Sport.

The Serie A heavyweights were recently taken over by Indonesian businessman Erick Thohir, and are set for a huge summer spend as he sets about turning the San Siro side back into Italy’s dominant club force.

A move for Chelsea’s Fernando Torres to solve their striking problems was seen as the most likely option, but with Blues chief Jose Mourinho having hinted that the much-maligned former Liverpool star may be staying, alternatives are on the agenda.

Negredo has now emerged as Inter’s top target, despite him having only been at the Etihad Stadium for one season.

The powerful front-man – nicknamed ‘The Beast’ – made a blistering start to life in the Premier League, but after hitting 23 goals in all competitions his form tailed off – thanks in part to injuries – over the latter half of the campaign.

Inter are confident that they can lure him to Milan, and could launch a move if City themselves sign a new attacking player.

Soldado is seen as another option, with the Spaniard having failed to make any impact at Spurs since his big money arrival from Valencia last year.
