Inter Milan will once again try to prise Pablo Osvaldo away from Southampton, by offering Chelsea target Fredy Gaurin as part of the deal, according to the Daily Mail.

Inter have continued to deny interest in the Southampton forward, but they remain keen to bring the player back to Italy as he has struggled to settle since his summer switch from Roma.

The Italian giants are in the market for a striker as they look to claw their way back into Europe, after a poor first half of the season.

Now it seems they are willing to offer Colombian midfielder Gaurin in part exchange in order to land Osvaldo.

Guarin has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this month, with Inter officials understood to have met with the West London club and offered the player for £12.5million.

The Blues were understood to have offered Demba Ba as a makeweight in any deal, but Inter would prefer Osvaldo.

Mauricio Pochettino is facing speculation over a number of his players, with Rickie Lambert attracting interest from West Ham, and Luke Shaw a target for both Manchester United and Chelsea.

“There is a lot of smoke surrounding Osvaldo, but he is very happy here and has been training very well,” Pochettino said.

“He has a contract here and is expecting the birth of his son. He is expecting his son to grow up in England.

“The hardest thing has been his adaptation to the league, that has been the most troubling thing and something he has been working on.

“We still have 22 days left in the transfer window, so we may change our minds, but at the moment we have no business planned.”
