Arsenal and Liverpool.

The player is able to sign a pre-contract in January for another club, with his contract at Schalke currently set to end this summer, and the 22-year-old is considering his options.

Holtby has an English father, and grew up supporting Everton, but is thought to be open to offers which would give him the opportunity to play in England or Spain.

His agent Markus Noack has revealed that there is interest from the Premier League, but he said the player’s future is undecided as of yet, with Inter Milan also thought to be keen on the youngster.

The ace’s current employers Schalke have not given up hope of persuading Holtby to sign a new deal however, and this was confirmed after he showcased the talent he possesses in the Champions League last week, as the German side emerged with a 2-0 victory from the Emirates stadium.

Noack went on to tell calciomercato.com: “’We are talking with Schalke about a possible extension for another three years.

“Talks are going well at the moment but the situation has definitely changed in the last period because several offers from Spain and England came in.

“My client will have to decide whether to continue to grow in Germany or to try a new experience at the end of this season.”

The German star will have another opportunity to put his name firmly in the thoughts of Premier League suitors, when Arsenal visit the Veltins-Arena to take on Schalke on 6th November.

Why fuss about with Lloriente or Huntelaar when there is a proven power and skilled striker. Dembe Ba would be perfect. He has a £7m buyout clause, speaks French and German fine alongside English. Most of all his countey is out of ACN.

Why would any ambitious 22 year old playing for a club that regularly qualifies for the Champions League want to play for Liverpool who are battling relegation ?

I mean Arsenal are already the prime example of soulless , ambition-less , penny pinching , cheapskateism but at least they remain capable of challenging for a trophy .

Liverpool can barely persuade a merely half decent reserve team player from Real to sign on loan for a season , that club is a graveyard & their last hope of resurrection left when they sacked Kenny Dalglish .
