Daily Star.

The Premier League giants are both thought to be monitoring the burly Kenyan, whose reputation has skyrocketed over the course of the last year.

Southampton have already met the Hoops’ valuation of their star, but the player himself is not keen on a move to St Mary’s Stadium.

He is said to be holding out for a ‘big club’ to enter the race, however both Liverpool and Arsenal are thought to be put off by his employers’ valuation.

Celtic are desperate to keep hold of the enforcer and are in no hurry to sell, but they know that it may be difficult to convince him to stay in the SPL.

The Reds are believed to have asked to be kept informed of the player’s status, while Arsenal are also thought to be monitoring the situation.

Cardiff are also in the fight, but Wanyama is rumoured to be unconvinced by a switch to south Wales.

The 6ft. 2” midfielder helped Celtic impress both domestically and in Europe last season, and even netted a stunning goal in their memorable victory over Barcelona.

Is Victor Wanyama right to hold out for Liverpool or Arsenal? Or wpuld he be better off at Southampton?

Could be argued, going to Southampton is going to the better team. I mean, what will Liverpool be next year… A top 8 top 10 team. Probably on par with Southampton.

I am getting fed up with his name being linked to Arsenal by various ‘experts’ or bloggers; it’s all without any real proof that Arsenal are interested.

He’s an okay player I don’t think he’s a top four club player, but he’s definite mid to bottom league

At 21 he was getting a weekly game at Celtic and came from a Belgian league where he was not 55 games in 3 years versus 91 in two seasons in Scotland plus scored 13 times to add to the pot.
He is 22 now and ready for the limelight according to his “greedy” agent. Maybe a regular weekly position at Southampton for a couple of years to sample the Premier League would be the better way to advance and develop his career than go to Arsenal or Liverpool and be played on a week to week basis based on performance.

Thatbwoy, do you see Wanyama much?

Did you see him hold his own in the Champions League against the likes of Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Pirlo? For me personally I would take the opinion of the likes of Pirlo who said about him

“You can see he has the ability to be one of the top midfield players in Europe. He has the quality and physical attributes to boss games. In the summer I would expect there to be interest in him from some of the biggest teams in Europe.”

I would guess you support/watch a Premiership team, the arrogance from you lot is staggering at times.

To all the inbred xenophobic Sky brainwashed, I hope none of you stump up £12m because I hope he stays where he is,we’ll get another year with him,his stock will rise if/when we reach the CL group stage AGAIN (unlike Liverpool) and you lot can get value for money from the likes of Carroll,Torres, Veron etc.
BTW Liverpool are the English team I follow since Dalglish signed, but unfortunately fell out of love with them when the bheast Souness took the reins.Thank feck he’s gone eh?

As one of my fellow Bhoys indicated earlier, Victor is a star in the making. He has all the attributes and skills to play at the top level, which despite what most of you southern softies think, May not be the EPL.

We have been fortunate to see a quality player who has played for a quality team. More supporters around the world than half the EPL put together.

We survived selling Dalglish and Larsson (world class – no argument). We will continue long after others fall by the wayside. And that includes the EPL implosion. Coming to a club near you soon.
