Liverpool striker Luis Suarez

Luis Suarez is preparing to take legal action against Liverpool in a bid to force through a move to Arsenal, reports the Daily Mail.

The Uruguayan forward has been the subject of a long drawn out summer transfer saga, which has seen the Gunners submit two official offers for his services.

Suarez believes the second – which consisted of £40million plus an extra £1 – should have triggered a clause that would have been enough to secure a move to the Emirates, although Liverpool claim there is no such clause in his contract.

The striker is said to have been angered by the club’s attempts to keep him at Anfield, and is looking to step up his efforts to leave this week.

The forward has asked his advisors to seek ratification on the clause from the Premier League, and should that fail, the South American is willing to seek advice from a legal team as to whether Liverpool have been in breach of contract.

Suarez’s final option would be to hand in a formal transfer request, although the Uruguayan sees that as a last resort.

Meanwhile Arsenal are reluctant to up their offer to Liverpool’s £50million asking price, as they believe their earlier offer should have been enough to secure the player already.

The Gunners – who have been accused of “lacking class” by Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers – are believed to be simply biding their time to see if Suarez’s attempts to get the situation clarified are successful, before launching a third bid.

Why is a transfer request a last resort – it should be the first thing handed in if a player wants to move. Presumably he doesnt want to miss out on his “loyalty” bonus by handing in a transfer request – its ridiculous.

its quite simple find out how much his loyalty bonus is and include it in the deal if he really wants to leave just hand in a transfer request.

I agree agf1968 this won’t happen unless he gives in a transfer request and Liverpool ignore it which won’t happen- this is ridiculous

Make up your mind. “Liverpool star TAKES legal action” or “Luis Suarez is PREPARING to take legal action” which is it?

This is utter tripe. He’s already come out and stated that the clause was not what he thought, and that Liverpool are under no obligation to sell and he even said he could understand why.

This was over a week ago, how short memories do the Mail think we have, or are they just light on Suarez news this week?

Remember…..Higuain arrives London for medical, Higuan seen at Heathrow, Higuain getting out of car in London (complete with a photo) Higuain seen changing flat tyre etc. ALL FANTASIES!!! One comment actually asked in frustration how the hell long does it take to get from Madrid to London IN THE 21ST CENTURY!!! yet for weeks Higuain was allegedly on his way to London.. These are just attempts to GRAB ATTENTION. As nobody has the balls to claim a deal is already done and since there is no picture of Brebdan Rodgers with a smile, Suarez must be presumably forcing this and that. HELLO!! WE KNOW THERE IS NO PROGRESS ON THIS DEAL! WE ARE JUST CLICKING TO SEE WHOSE STORIES STINK THE LEAST

What a load of crap again! This piece of news have been going on for the past few weeks and Liverpool have made statements contrary to that and the player concerned himself seemed to look very happy at training sessions! I only believe news fro the official website of LFC!
