Liverpool.

The Brazilian youngster joined the Reds from Inter Milan in an £8.5m deal during January, and has shown signs of promise in his fleeting appearances.

A goal against Swansea, during his first Anfield start, quickly warmed him to the crowd, who gave him a standing ovation when he was substituted

Cesar and Coutinho spent time together in Italy, and the QPR stopper feels that Coutinho will mature into a top player with Liverpool:

“I hope he can do well in a Liverpool shirt,’ he is quoted by The Metro.

“I send him my best wishes for his new adventure at Liverpool.

“I am convinced that he will prove his quality because off the pitch he really is a golden boy and he’ll be able to assert himself.”

Coutinho was expected to be a real star at Inter, but struggled to adapt to life at the San Siro.

A successful loan stint at Espanyol last term convinced Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers to swoop for his signature, beating domestic rivals Southampton who were also interested.

Having shown signs of his potential already, the club are keen to push his development forward, but team-mate Lucas Leiva feels he will need time to adapt:

“He is still adapting. I have been talking to him about the pace here and even in training, he can feel it is much quicker than Italy.”
