Most Premier League managers baulk at the prospect of conducting their transfer business in the January window.

Buying and selling players mid-season always seems to distort market prices – something Liverpool fans will be well aware of. The Reds infamously purchased Andy Carroll for £35million in January 2011, only to flog him to West Ham for just £15million a few years later.

But the mid-season transfer window is there for a reason – it gives managers the chance to tailor and bolster their squad for the season’s final run-in, not to mention shift any deadwood that’s been piling up.

With that in mind, we at Football Fancast have come up with a list of FIVE players Brendan Rodgers should try and move on during the coming transfer window, raising some revenue for new recruits in the process.
