During many of Olympiakos matches, banners with the Liverpool logo can be seen as both sets of fans share a similar tragedy written sadly into their rich history.

Therefore, when Olympiakos fans made their way to Old Trafford for their match with Manchester United, these banners were once again seen.

With Liverpool losing 96 fans in their Hillsborough disaster and Olympiakos losing twenty of their supporters and one rival supporter at the Karaiskakis Stadium, they always had a sympathetic connection with one another. Therefore, when the Greek supporters came to England, they always show massive respect towards the club.
