Liverpool fans are prepared to sit back and wait to see if Brendan Rodgers’ long-term project bears fruit. Some aren’t so forbearing and require instant results to indicate progression. A catch-22 never seen before on Merseyside. Time is precious commodity in modern day football and Rodgers is working by the clock to fully implement his much debated philosophy, whilst righting the wrongs of Kenny Dalglish’s disastrous reign. Despite a rocky start, that included losing in the Europa League on Thursday, headway has certainly been made. The introduction of Raheem Sterling has made all the headlines but young Spaniard Suso and right back Andre Wisdom have caught the eye and are symptomatic of the direction Rodgers is taking. Right now supporters need to grit their teeth, clench their fists and endure.

“I loved it. It is every boy’s dream to make his debut for Liverpool. I felt I had a good game. The gaffer is going to give youngsters a chance and for myself to get a chance was fantastic. I put my all into it and was made up to make my debut. You have to be patient and bide your time and hopefully your chance will come. You just have to keep working hard in training.” Conor Coady reveals he hopes to build on an impressive debut for Liverpool
