Liverpool FC are weighing up a January move to bring in Sporting Lisbon winger Jeffren on loan according to Portuguese newspaper Record.

Brendan Rodgers is tracking the midfielder who joined the Portuguese giants from Barcelona last season. The winger is a product of the famous La Masia academy and would add much needed depth to the attacking ranks at Anfield.

The paper indicates that the Merseyside club have already made contact with Sporting regarding to a potential deal which could be reached in the next couple of days.

Liverpool were linked with the winger in the summer but nothing concrete was agreed, but now with the lack of first team football, interest from Liverpool has been re-ignited for the Venezuelan-born star.

Jeffren has yet to be a prominent figure in the Sporting team since his move from Barcelona scoring just the one goal in 149 minutes of first team action.

The 24-year-old has bags of pace and linked up with Luis Suarez up front it could be just the recipe that Brendan Rodgers need to make Liverpool a force in the Premier League once again.

Liverpool are also being linked with highly rated Vitesse Arnhem striker Wilfried Bony who has been on Chelsea’s radar. The 24-year-old is currently the Eredivisie’s top scorer with 14 goals.
