The 25-year-old has made a stunning start to the Premier league season, helping his side move up into third position after 11 games.

His electric form has even alerted Roy Hodgson, who has named the South Coast ace in his squad for England’s upcoming friendly ties against Chile and Germany.

It’s not only the Three Lions coach who has been impressed by Lallana, with Liverpool chief Brendan Rodgers also taking notice of his abilities.

The Northern Irishman is keen to bolster his ranks in January in a bid to keep his side in the title race after an impressive opening few months to the season.

He sees the Southampton skipper as a player that would be suited to his current system, and somebody that could link well with Anfield’s star attacking trio Daniel Sturridge, Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho.

Rodgers is desperate for his to, at the very least, finish in the top four, and is thought to be ready to spend in the New Year to build on a start to the campaign that has exceeded expectations.

Southampton are unlikely to be keen to sell, but a big money offer may be enough to turn Lallana’s head and tempt the St Mary’s Stadium side.

Could Adam Lallana be the difference between Champions League and Europa League football for Liverpool?
