Daniel Sturridge Chelsea StrikerLiverpool FC  are set to make a January move for out-of-favour Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

Brendan Rodgers is believed to see the England international as the ideal candidate to strengthen his threadbare front-line.

With Fabio Borini sidelined by a foot injury, Luis Suarez is the only fit, established striker available to the Northern Irishman.

The Reds are said to have made an official approach for Sturridge during the summer, but the player refused to move on loan, instead favouring a permanent switch.

The Anfield outfit could grant him his wish this January by attempting to agree a deal to take the Blues’ back-up man to Merseyside.

It’s believed that Chelsea are willing to let the versatile forward leave, as they look to step up their pursuit of Atletico Madrid’s prolific Colombian Radamel Falcao.

Theo Walcott is thought to be Liverpool’s first choice, but they are unsure as to whether a deal can be reached with the winger.

Following the side’s 3-0 Premier League win over Wigan last weekend, club chairman Tom Werner admitted that plans are in place to strengthen during the winter, hinting that Rodgers should have the financial muscle to conclude a deal.

Blackpool star Tom Ince has also been mooted as an option, but it’s unclear as to whether he will want to rejoin the club who let him go as part of their deal to sign Charlie Adam in 2011.

it will be an unpardonable blunder to sign theo Walcot who has been putting up such tumbling performances over two seasons now. His apt description in Literature is a flat character
