Liverpool reject Leeds United approach
The 18-year-old has struggled to get first team action since the turn of the new year, after some weak performances. Last month manager Brendan Rodgers suggested that Sterling’s poor form was down to fatigue.
But after the Northen Irishman brought in Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge in the January transfer window, it appears Sterling faces even tougher competition to get back in the starting eleven, and may be loaned out to earn vital match experience.
Liverpool have rejected loan bids from three Championship clubs for Sterling, as Rodgers looks for the right club to come in for Sterling. The Jamaican born winger has also been in the headlines for the wrong reasons recently, after he was charged by police for assault. Sterling has denied the allegation.
Rodgers is also ready to let Spanish youngster Suso out on loan as well, with the 19-year-old also looking to gain more first team experience. The Spanish under-21 international will be sent on loan to a Championship club.
The two youngsters will be eager to get themselves back in the Liverpool team as the reds push to go back ahead of neighbours Everton in the table, with a trip to Aston Villa the next game for Liverpool after the international break. However, with three bids already in for Sterling, the two youngsters may already have been sent on loan by the end of the month.
